Robert J. “Bob” Hough
Broker/President
Mr. Hough is an experienced Business Broker with over thirty years of experience in corporate management and private ownership. He has owned and operated several successful businesses before opening Sunbelt. Bob worked for the Truck Division of the Hertz Corporation as a regional and major accounts manager (Disney, Sysco Foods, and Beatrice Foods), and was a regional manager for Pullman Trailmobile Transportation. He operated and was a minority partner in John Deere Industrial dealerships in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, along with owning and operating Red Lion Trucking.
Most recently, he owned and operated a successful seafood restaurant in Indian Rocks Beach and sold it in 1992 to become a Business Broker. Mr. Hough was president of the Gulf Beaches Chamber of Commerce from 1984 to 1988 and was instrumental in Florida's beach renourishment programs.
Currently Bob specializes in the sale of Marine Industries, Medical Industries and many types of manufacturing and distribution companies. His history of sales has included a broad range of Florida based companies. He currently resides in Indian Rocks Beach, Florida with his wife, Ann, who is a health care professional with Morton Plant /Mease Baycare.
Ken Alburtus
Ken has been an associate of Sunbelt Business Brokers for 5 years. In this time he has gained a wealth of experience in the proper dealings with buyers and sellers in the sale of a business. He has previously owned and operated numerous successful businesses in Florida. In addition to gaining experience from owning businesses he has also spent numerous years in the corporate world. As a senior buyer for Eckerd Drugs and A&P he gained invaluable experience that will help him in his current position as a sales associate with Sunbelt Business Brokers. Educationally Ken has a B.A. in business administration from Rochester Institute of Technology.
Ken currently resides in Dunedin with his wife Bobbie, an elementary school teacher, and their three Golden Retrievers. Their three children are grown and out on their own most of the time.
Bill Blair
Bill’s 40 years of experience in sales and management uniquely positions’ him to help those seeking to own or sell their businesses.
His career started with IBM in 1967 after graduating from VA Tech with a degree in Business Administration and Marketing. Bill stayed with IBM for 16 years, retiring early in 1982 to move to Florida. The move was postponed for 6 years because the interest rates went 19% and prevented him from selling his home in N. VA.
He finally made it to Florida in 1988 and settle in Windermere, a suburb of Orlando. He has bought, owned and sold 3 successful businesses in the last 20 years. That experience gives him the insight needed to evaluate business opportunities and the ability to help people trying to acquire them.
He is particularly sensitive to both buyers and sellers, having been on each side. He takes the time to educate both parties about their responsibilities throughout the entire buying/selling process.
Bill has been a Rotarian for almost 20 years, currently with Seven Springs Rotary in New Port Richey, and previously with Dr. Phillips Rotary in Orlando. He resides in Holiday.
Mike Furlong
Mike is an experienced Business Broker who resides in Pasco County. Mike has owned and operated several successful companies in the retail, entertainment and food service industries. A native of Michigan, Mike was formerly a Dearborn Firefighter and retired as a Fire captain. During his career, he was president of the Firefighters union for over nine years and was involved in union negotiations with the City of Dearborn, and active in local politics.
Mike and his wife currently reside at his horse ranch in Hudson. He is also a licensed mortgage broker and started business brokering.
Larry M. Lawrence
Larry is a long time resident of the Tampa Bay area graduating from the University of South Florida with a B.A. Degree in Political Science and Business Administration. He comes to Sunbelt Business Brokers with over twenty-five years in sales and marketing management with multi-national corporations and most recently as the senior executive for the US Division of a British company marketing products to national retail chains in North America.
He has also been a consultant to companies developing new products from the conception phase to market launch and involved in all facets of new business ventures.
Gary W. Schaefer
Gary has a B. A. in Finance/Economics from Georgia State University and also served in the USAF. He has more than 15 years experience in investment banking as a Senior Investment Executive focusing primarily on evaluating businesses based on earnings and growth potential. He has been recognized with several outstanding performance awards from several NASD affiliated stock brokerage firms in Tampa.
He has also been President and CFO of his own business, handling all financial aspects including preparing financial reports, income statements, balance sheets, cash flow statements, profit and loss statements, tax returns.
He is also active in the Tampa Bay community and is currently involved with the Lutz Little League as a coach and an umpire.
Jeff Wright

Experience / Professional History
Prior to joining Sunbelt Business Brokers, Jeff gained his real estate investment experience beginning in 1977 as a buyer of residential and multi-family income property. He furthered his exposure to real estate as a member of the Real Estate Syndication and Securities Institute (RESSI) in the mid 1980’s. Jeff balanced his participation in the equity side of real estate investments by providing private loans in both the Pennsylvania and Florida markets.
Meeting the challenge of creating equitable solutions to the competing needs of both buyer and seller powers Jeff’s brokerage success. An uncommon attention to detail, the effective use of innovative technology, and the ability to create trust-centered relationships help ensure that Jeff’s clients achieve their goals.
Prior to Jeff’s focus on commercial and investment real estate, Jeff co-owned a multi-franchised automobile dealership in Philadelphia. Upon selling his interests, he joined an international consulting company serving automotive manufacturers and major automotive dealership groups in 19 countries providing leasing and financing strategies. He contributed to the company’s growth from an initial 19 consultants to over 300 worldwide advisors.
